Can We Give You Examples Of Specific Photos We Want Taken?
If there is a specific location, position or group of people you want photographed, please let us know this before the day. However, we would prefer to be able to photograph in our own style, as we find this gives the most natural images and also allows us to use the location freely, rather than being locked into a certain set of photos and poses. If you need some inspiration for your photos drop by our Pinterest page using the link below.

Can We Meet You Both In Person Before The Day?
Absolutely! We definitely prefer to meet face-to-face before the day. This gives us a chance to get to know each other better and importantly, makes sure that we are the right fit for you as we’ll be spending a lot of time together at your event. We currently live in Lilydale and are happy to meet in the area, or come to your local area if preferred.

How Long Is The Coverage For A Wedding?
We will take photos from the start of both the bride and groom and their parties getting ready, which generally begins three hours before the ceremony. Depending on which package you choose, we will then shoot up until the start of the reception, or approximately two hours into the reception (once the speeches, cake cutting and important dances are over). Generally we will be working with you for 6-8 hours on your special day.

What About Other Events?
We are able to negotiate times depending on your event. For engagement shoots, family portraits, pregnancy and newborn sessions, we would recommend a minimum of two hours. For birthday parties, the time will vary depending on what aspects you want covered.

3. On The Day
How Long Do You Usually Spend At Each Getting Ready Location?
Typically we would spend one hour at the brides getting ready location and 45 minutes with the groom. Depending on your getting ready locations and their proximity to your ceremony venue, we will decide whether we see the bride or groom first.
When meeting up with the bride, we ask that your hair and make-up is done, but that you and your bridesmaids are not yet in your dresses and that the bride is not wearing her engagement ring or important jewellery. This gives us a chance to take some shots of the dresses and the jewellery on their own, before you get dressed privately. We will then follow with some shots of the bride on her own, with her bridesmaids and flower girl and her family.
When meeting up with the groom, ideally you and the groomsmen will be showered and dressed in your suit pants and shirts. We will then get shots of you doing your ties, cufflinks, shoes etc and then move on to solo groom photos, group shots and family shots.
We like to arrive at the ceremony location 15-20 minutes before the start time so we can suss out the best locations for us to stand and move around to capture the best moments of the ceremony.

What Happens If We Are Running Late Pre-Ceremony?
We will try our best to work with delays in time and still spend the maximum amount of time with both the bride and groom. We can always swap around who we visit first depending on who is running late and may ask that you are completely ready (clothes, jewellery, shoes etc…) so we can get straight into group and family photos when we arrive.

Who Will Be The Person Taking Our Photos?
Matt is the main photographer and will therefore always be the person taking your photos on the day. Emily will almost always come along to assist and will also take some shots, but is not the main photographer; her job is to help out with positioning and styling of you and your guests to make for the best photographs.

4. Location Photos
What Happens If It Rains On Our Wedding Day?
No need to worry! If you don’t mind getting the umbrella out we will still be able to capture some stunning photos. We can also accommodate changes in location settings for photos of family and groups if not everyone is happy about exposing themselves to Melbourne’s unpredictable weather!

How Long Do We Need For The Post-Ceremony Photos?
An hour to an hour-and-a-half is ideal for photos between the ceremony and reception. It is important to keep in mind that your guests will be waiting during this time and you don’t want them to wait for too long. If you plan to take your post-ceremony photos quite a distance from where your reception will be held you will want to factor this in to the start time of your reception to ensure you do not run late.

What Is The Best Time Of Day For The Location Photos?
Late afternoon, after 3.30pm, up until sunset, is the best time for photos. The sun is not too high in the sky or too bright which reduces glare and squinting of people in photos. You might wish to check sunset times prior to organising the time of your ceremony and reception.

5. The Reception
How Much Of The Reception Will You Be Available To Capture?
Our package covers approximately two hours of photography time during the reception, which is usually enough to cover the important dances, speeches and cutting of the cake. If these events will not fall within the two hour time frame, we can pose a mock cutting of the cake prior to the reception start or can discuss staying for longer at an additional charge.

Will You Take Photos Of Our Guests During The Reception?
We will try out best to move around the room and take photos of at least each table group. While your guests are eating and mingling we will make ourselves available for guests who might like couple, family or friendship group shots. We find that nowadays most guests will bring their own cameras/phones to your reception to capture their own shots, so we like to try and focus more on the candid pictures of the newly married couple as you mingle with family and friends and enjoy your night.

If You Stay For Two Hours Of The Reception, Do We Need To Cater For You?
Depending on the timing of your major events during the reception we can either head off for 45 minutes to grab our own meal, or we may request that you provide a meal for us. Most venues will do so at a reduced rate – this can be discussed at the pre-wedding meeting.

6. After The Wedding
Will You Supply Every Single Photo You Take?
A typical $1000 package wedding will see us take around 1,000 photos and a $1500 package wedding around 2,000. A large number of these photos are test shots that we use to focus the camera and we also like to ensure we that we take more than one shot of each moment or pose in case people are blinking, looking away from the camera etc. After the wedding we take great pleasure in sorting through the images and selecting the best ones, which will then be edited for you.

How Many Photos Will We Receive?
On average, a $1000 wedding will result in 250-300 photos and a $1500 in 350-400 photos. This will vary slightly depending on the each unique day and the amount of time actually covered, as well as the types of photos and select package you may request.

How Long Will It Be Before We See Any Of Our Photos?
We aim to put a ‘sneak peak’ photo on our Facebook page the day after your wedding, followed by another 3-5 images over the next week. The rest of the edited photos will be supplied, not watermarked, in high resolution on USB around 3-4 weeks after your wedding date.
What Do You Do To The Photos When You Edit Them?
Our editing process is fairly light and aims to maintain the look and feel of the day. We don’t want you to look back at your photos and not recognise yourselves due to over editing. We use the Adobe Suite to correct and adjust colours and remove any unfortunate blemishes that might pop up in the closer photos. Our main editing programs are Lightroom and Photoshop.

Once We Have Seen The Photos, Can We Request Specific Editing To Be Done?
As our price includes the original editing process for your images, we would be happy to receive your request but would process this at an additional cost if the request is manageable.
